Suspected insurgent command post found in Fallujah
U S troops found what appeared to be a command center used by followers of Abu Musab al Zarqawi in Fallujah. A CNN team embedded with the army uncovered a bomb factory and a classroom with flight plans. Five days after occupation, battles persisted with one U S Marine and one Iraqi soldier killed. The 1st Marine Expeditionary Force reported 51 U S deaths and about 425 wounded with roughly 1,200 insurgents killed and 1,025 detained. Lt Gen John Sattler said the attack had dealt a serious blow to the insurgency.
