Train crash injures 33 near Dalton Illinois

Storm Heads Toward Japan Threatening Okinawa

A typhoon with winds up to 100 mph in the center is forecast to sideswipe Okinawa this afternoon and may strike southern Japan tomorrow. Convicted Jaws Expected To Ask Leniency

Japan's top 25 war criminals plan to petition Gen. Douglas MacArthur for clemency tomorrow, with American defense attorneys filing petitions on their behalf. AFL Enters Politics On Permanent Basis

Cincinnati AP report says the American Federation of Labor will fund a political education drive with 10 cents from each of its 1.5 million members. The Labor's League for Political Education aims for $750,000, targeting 110,000 polling precincts over 114 months.
