A 15 year old Middletown High School sophomore, Richard Lee Van Dyne, was killed when a car he rode in collided with a utility pole on the Wayne Madison Road near Trenton. Six passengers were injured, two critically, including John Jacobs and Thomas, as state patrols attributed no excessive speed. Van Dyne, son of Mr and Mrs Donald Van Dyne, was a drum majorette's brother and member of St Paul Evangelical church.

Six hundred female students were evacuated from two Ohio State University dorms early today when fire broke out in a room shared by three occupants. No one injured. two residents were in hysterical condition under a nurse's care. Fire confined to the room. cause undetermined.
