Four states reported no Air Force aircraft missing after a B29 crash near Flemingsburg Kentucky with eight aboard. Wright Patterson AFB crews searched the Kentucky West Virginia region after a ham radio operator heard a distress call. Truck Trolley Collision Kills Motorman and Two Passengers

In Chicago a trolley and a semitrailer truck collided at 61st Street and Western Avenue. The motorman Gusto Carlson aged 64 and two passengers James Ziegler 46 and Arthur Duffin 72 died. Thirty five others injured, truck driver Ernest Taylor 46 charged with drunken driving reckless homicide and driving on the wrong side. Witnesses said the truck loaded with pianos struck a concrete safety island triggering a jackknife across the streetcar path.
