A welfare recipient in Plattsburgh New York sent a letter to Clinton County Welfare Commissioner Richard H Duane saying her check was late causing her husband to go to work. The AP report notes the welfare office faced delays in processing payments.
Dayton, Ohio AP report says about 95,000 riders were left with no bus service after 345 drivers and maintenance workers walked off at 2 am amid failed negotiations. Union Local 1385 rejected a late company offer over a 41 month contract and a contingency clause tied to a rate hike approval. without approval no wage increase.
