In Holyoke Massachusetts a midnight blaze killed seven people including five children and injured five others. Officials say the fire started on wooden rear porches and was set, trapping residents on upper floors. Rescue worker Ronald Langlois helped save several children as flames raced through the building.

Jones who denied guilt and claimed he was not in Tennessee when Newt Lee was killed faced a high profile hit and run case pursued by Welby Lee the victim’s son.
