Commissioners Clear Financial Way For Water Works Project
City commissioners in the first meeting after the election addressed the $1,500,000 water works improvement plan and approved selling mortgage revenue bonds maturing 1964-79. Newly elected Charles B. Stiles was sworn in, and bids, planning reports, and a charter amendment printing were approved. The board authorized test wells, discussed airport and underpass upgrades, and delayed final police and fire alarm payments due to cable issues. Expenditures for October totaled $35,719, within budget.
