In Columbus, Ohio, Democrats and Republicans dispute who gains from a potential record 4.1 million 1960 turnout for the presidential election. Analysts note local polls favor Democrats in their areas while Republicans worry, with Kennedy possibly carrying Ohio by 75 000 to 100 000 votes amid pressure to boost voter turnout.
In Harlem, a dynamite bomb exploded on a six car Independent Line express at 125th Street, killing 17 year old Sandra Breeland of Brooklyn and injuring 18 others including Cordell Jones who was boarding nearby. Police doubt it is the work of the Sunday bomber blamed for earlier explosions.

In El Cajon California Victor Rojas 4 a Democrat and Norma Jean Rojas 4 a Republican argued over television watching Kennedy and Lawrence Welk. Deputies say she stabbed him with a paring knife. Mrs Rojas booked on suspicion of murder after the Saturday night incident.
