The four point program and four ballot questions were crushed in urban and rural Ohio voting places with up to 80 percent rejecting aspects. The broad defeat focused on two tax raising issues tied to a $4.5 billion bond proposal, the largest ever presented to voters. Rhodes previously faced a similar setback over a proposed Ohio Bonding Commission.

The deaths included former Vice President Nazrul Islam, former Prime Ministers Masoor Ali and Tajuddin Ahmed, and former Home Minister A.H.M. Kamaruzzam, fueling the power struggle in the young nation's army.
Partly cloudy weather is forecast for Middletown with mid-50s lows and mid-70s highs reaching tomorrow. Voter turnout neared 65 percent in Warren and Butler counties with write-in results in Jacksonburg races.
