In Chattanooga Tennessee a state trooper fund honoring 600 safety department workers who signed a $10 pledge to a beneficiary after death paid $597 contributions totaling $5,970. The money was delivered to Minnie Davenport widow of Pelham F Davenport Jr by Capt. P D Garland.
Preliminary analysis of aerial photographs indicates missile launcher erectors and much launch equipment are removed from Cuban sites. Concrete pads broken up, cables cut, and areas plowed or bulldozed as U N inspections were sought. US Navy keeps blockade ships on station while surveillance continues.
A U S airlift from Germany to India begins to supply the Himalayan army with light infantry weapons and mountain artillery to counter Chinese invaders. The first 135 jet transports depart Rhein Main for Calcutta, with round the clock relief crews and no U S military instructors. The White House rejected a New York Herald Tribune report that Khrushchev’s unpublished October 26 letter to Kennedy showed extreme agitation over Cuba missile bases and potential nuclear war. The Tribune quoted officials saying the first letter was a high pitched plea and that publication was unlikely.
President and Mrs Kennedy cast absentee ballots for next Tuesday's Massachusetts state election. The ballots arrived Thursday at the Boston election department.
Fidel Castro denounced U.N. supervision of dismantling Soviet missiles in Cuba and again demanded the United States withdraw its naval base at Guantanamo. He warned that U.N. inspection would humiliate Cuba and reiterated calls to end U.S. economic measures, exile attacks, and aerial naval space violations.
COLUMBUS AP A Common Pleas judge ordered the attorney general"s first assistant to present evidence to a grand jury in the adding machine case involving Ou and Micelle Nam. Governor DiSalle said the attorney general is unavailable and that the case shows irregularities in the auditor"s office. The emergency board may be asked again for funds to widen the investigation as two accounting firms found no fraud.

NEW YORK AP Dave Beck the former Teamsters leader and ex truck driver was acquitted by a federal jury of illegally borrowing 200000 from trucking concerns. Co-defendants Roy Fruehauf Burge Seymour and their companies were also acquitted. Beck faces prison time still pending related to a separate matter. The verdict followed a jury deadlock that later resolved in favor of acquittals.
