Trenton Council to hear sludge spread questions Thursday

Trenton residents will attend a 7:30 p.m. City Council meeting at the Municipal Building to question Middletown sludge used as fertilizer at Martin Farms near Trenton. Middletown officials assert cadmium and other metals stay within EPA limits and that Martin Farms will spread far less than allowed per acre. Fred Martin and Kelsie Singleton, plus engineering firm reps, are set to present, with possible sludge spreading visuals. The council also considers bids to remove the Tower Avenue tank and West State booster station as a new Howe Road tank renders them obsolete.
