Funeral Saturday for Middletown editor David Regan

Retired Journal executive editor David T. Regan, 70, died of heart failure yesterday at Middletown Hospital after collapse at home. A Columbus native and Ohio State journalism graduate, he shaped Middletown news from 1929 to 1972 and led The Journal as executive editor after writing Here and There. Burial is in Woodside Cemetery. services are set for Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wilson-Schramm Memorial Home.

Vietnamese art cargo to be returned to owner in Guam

Government to switch Social Security to direct deposits

The U S government will begin a nationwide direct deposit program for Social Security payments starting in August 1975 with voluntary enrollment. Recipients must have a checking or savings account and can choose banks savings and loan associations mutual savings banks or credit unions. The plan aims to reach about 40 percent of 44 million federal payment recipients by 1980 and will eventually move to electronic payments eliminating checks.

Middletown Weather Outlook Cloudy With Showers

Forecasters expect cloudy conditions in the Middletown area with showers and possible thunder showers tonight and Friday. Lows near 60 tonight, highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s tomorrow, with about a 60 percent rain chance both tonight and tomorrow.
