House Built With Love Rebuilds Texarkana Church
After a racial firebombing 14 months ago the St. Paul Baptist Church in Texarkana reopened as the house built by love. Black and white congregants joined in dedication, highlighting unity in Jesus Christ and a joint rebuild effort led by local pastors and Texas Baptists. The project used log framing from Colorado and volunteer labor, cutting the restoration cost to less than half of its $110,000 appraisal. Authorities offered a $5,000 reward for arsonists, with donations totaling about $25,000.
