Ohio Senate Leader May Be New AFL-CIO Head

Frank W. King of Toledo, minority leader of the Ohio Senate, challenged David Kane of Dayton for president of the Ohio AFL-CIO at the union’s fourth constitutional convention. If elected, King would take the $16 000 a year post full time, resigning his Senate seat after January to protect the party balance. The convention also elected Robert D. Ballard secretary treasurer, and discussed state finances with claims of a June 30 1965 surplus of about 115 million dollars.
