PolyHeme trial expands to Miami Valley Hospital patients
The study tests immediate therapy with PolyHeme for hemorrhagic shock patients transported by CareFlight. A blinded cooler on board hides the product from crews, with treatment starting at the scene or during flight and continuing up to 12 hours post injury. Miami Valley Hospital joins 25 facilities. 300 patients tested so far, 700 more needed nationwide.
