Little Miami River Canoe Race Draws Entries Across States
The eighth annual Little Miami River Canoe Race spans June 6 and 7 from South Lebanon to Clermont County with seven divisions. Races start at 1 30 a.m. and 1 30 p.m. for different courses. trophies awarded to top three and 48 total, plus arrowhead medallions for finishers. Entry fee is 5 before June 5, plus 2 emergency fee.

Prize Winners 118 Graduate At Springboro
Clearcreek High School named valedictorian Deborah Haskett and salutatorian Georgia Koogler as 118 seniors graduated in 1969 1970 ceremonies. Haskett earned 3.99 average and earned the Miami University Alumni Scholarship while Koogler had 3.97. Boro Woman Wins Miami University Art Education Scholarship
Mrs. Marcia Alspaugh of 85 Kesling Drive won the sixth annual Amy M. Swisher Scholarship Award in Art Education at Miami University for 1970-71. The unanimous faculty choice honors Miss Swisher, who chaired the department 32 years and retired in 1949 after joining faculty in 1917.

Port Elizabeth reports Anthony van Rensburg, seven, suffers from 30 known allergies. Doctors say he must avoid eggs milk grass wool flowers bristles moss cereals cats rabbits dogs and other high protein foods. He may eat fruit and candy as his parents hope some allergies fade with time.
