NEW YORKAP The stock market ended Friday in the red but opened higher today with gains marginal. Early quotes show Benguel down 0.5 percent, Natonas down 0.3 percent, Occidental Petroleum up 0.5 percent, Columbia Gas down 0.3 percent, and U S Steel up 0.5 percent. The Dow Jones index finished Friday at 947.45, down 2.59. The AP 60 average stood at 338.3, down 0.3 for the day.
