Silent killer turns sad occasion into tragedy
A Cincinnati family reunion at Ohio Valley Hospital in Steubenville ended in carbon monoxide poisoning. Ruth Grant died five days after the incident, with Jody and Jolynn remaining in comas for months. Jolynn survived as a spastic quadriplegic while Jody died later. Neighbors and Mercy Hospital staff organized funds for care.
