Old TV Saga Wins Hearts in a Warped War on Color
A wife sparring with her frugal husband portrays an aging 12 inch black and white TV as a relic, a family mascot, and battleground for Color TV adoption. She seizes on articles about color sales and even wartime savings to sway him, while plans to let the old set “burn out completely” mount with playoff timing. Her plea centers on the children and a stubborn heir to buy a modern color set, amid humorous domestic quips and nostalgic imagery.

Mrs Mandel Prefers Painting Even If Not Hogarth
In Annapolis Maryland Mrs Marvin Mandel celebrates the unveiling of a large tableau of Horatio Sharpe and family, initially believed to be a Hogarth portrait. The work was later deemed by experts to be by Gawen Hamilton from 1753. Insurance and plans had been set, then adjusted when authentication changed. Mrs Mandel remains pleased with the painting for its merit rather than its attribution.
