LeSourdsville Picnic Areas Expanded for Weekend Festivities
Workmen under Harlan Helton completed grading geolding and adding picnic spaces at LeSourdsville. The enlarged sand beach required tree planting and landscaping to support a busy picnic season. Weather boosted attendance across departments, with swimming up. The season opens with Tommy Robbins and his 14 piece band in the ballroom, plus Memorial Day bookings. Regular square dances and June 1 sponsorships by Monroe Grange frame a busy schedule. Free season passes offered Sunday May 28 and Memorial Day. A new bandstand at the south midway will be ready for Hamilton Safety Day on June 3.
