Palm Springs Hosts California Sled Dog Club Races
The California Sled Dog Club drew about 75 participants to Palm Springs to race huskies on Mt. San Jacinto. Teams faced desert heat and 600 foot cable car ascents, training rigs cost about 2000 dollars, dogs acclimate for snow at 10000 feet.
