Zoar Village: Amid Icarus River Banks Historic Religious Haven
Zoar Village in Ohio survives as a restored historic site founded in 1817 by German Separatists. Once prosperous, the community faded after 1892 but many original houses remain occupied by descendants. The 5500 acre site includes restored buildings, a greenhouse with historic citrus, and artifacts tied to leader Joseph Baumeier and Refugees from Württemberg.
