Washington May 17 AP This week s display of Allied disunity over the Korean truce negotiations is seen as weakening the bargaining position. Panmunjom recess and U S insistence on prisoners choosing freedom over communism stand as core obstacles to an armistice. Officials say the burden of the war rests on the United States and allied troops. Skepticism remains whether Chinese and North Korean negotiators truly seek peace or seek new advantages. The dispute among allies may persist until talks end.
