Youth Admits Sniping Spree
Howard Criswell an 18 year old Nashville man signed a confession admitting nine sniper shootings blamed on an urge to kill. He was jailed without bond on nine counts of assault with intent to murder after police say he described feeling relief when hitting his targets. Sheriff Cartwright ordered a mental exam by Dr John J Lentz as Criswell’s arrest closed the mystery of the three week sniper terror in south Nashville.
