Congressman Macdonald Recovers After Life Support Withdrawal
Five days after ordering the removal of life sustaining devices, Torbert H. Macdonald D Mass was in serious but stable condition at Bethesda Naval Hospital. An aide said the devices included a stomach pump intravenous tubes and medications. He sank into a coma like state from internal bleeding before his family allowed life support to be removed.
