U S government figures show AFDC fraud prosecutions nearly doubled from 9,172 in 1973 to 17,982 in 1975 while total suspected fraud cases reached 144,306. Congressman Macdonald Recovers After Life Support Withdrawal

Five days after ordering the removal of life sustaining devices, Torbert H. Macdonald D Mass was in serious but stable condition at Bethesda Naval Hospital. An aide said the devices included a stomach pump intravenous tubes and medications. He sank into a coma like state from internal bleeding before his family allowed life support to be removed. Friends said he suffered from a liver ailment.

State park rate hike proposed across Ohio parks

Ohio plans a 25 cent across the board camping fee increase for 63 state parks effective January 1 1977. A Class A electric campsite would cost $4 per night and deluxe housekeeping cabins would rise to $165 per week in peak season. Seasonal boat dock rentals would go from $75 to $85.
