Middletown Branch Office Proposed to Reduce Auto Title Lines
Car dealers demand a Middletown branch of the Butler County Clerk of Courts to handle auto titles and cut long lines. Commissioners blame Robb for mismanagement and funding gaps, while dealer representatives press for swift action and warn of lost business. Committee backs fire and burglar alarm regulation plan
A Middletown committee agreed regulation is needed to cut false alarms. City Manager Dale Helsel said about 15 people from alarm firms city law, police fire divisions and local businesses attended. The proposed ordinance would charge at least 20 dollars annually for alarms plus 8 dollars for new hookups and 20 dollars yearly monitoring with a 25 dollar fine after three false alarms and revocation after 10 in a year. The panel will refine the proposal and report back before a second reading.
