A Stanford Research Institute analysis for industry groups says upcoming Consumer Safety Commission safety standards could raise mower prices by 24 to 49 percent, with four wheel push models most affected. Riding mowers could rise 19 to 30 percent, and overall 25 companies might exit the market.
Forecasters warn a stretch of pleasant weather may end as a partly cloudy day brings a 20 percent chance of rain. By nightfall rain odds rise to 50 percent with highs in the 70s and overnight in the 50s. Showers possible again tomorrow with highs in the upper 60s.
