Navy flotilla steams into Cambodia toward Phnom Penh
A combined 100 naval craft from the United States and South Vietnam pushed up the Mekong into Cambodia with gunboats silencing fire near Neak Luong 37 miles southeast of Phnom Penh. U.S. helicopters attacked positions at the ferry crossing while two new drives into Cambodia formed west and northwest of Saigon. A major cache of 300 tons of munitions and foods was found about 80 miles northwest of Saigon. The flotilla seeks to open the river for a relief convoy to Phnom Penh and to allow Cambodians to reach South Vietnam.

Henderson claims Miss Sasseen founded Mothers Day
In Henderson Kentucky residents claim Mary Towles Sasseen, a teacher, launched the Mothers Day movement in 1887 and later spread it to public schools. They note her pamphlet in 1893 and touring education groups predated Anna Jarvis, who is commonly credited. President Wilson later made the second Sunday in May a national holiday.
