Irving Berlin at 77 and still writing songs for film

Irving Berlin will turn 77 tomorrow and shows little interest in the milestone. He is finishing seven new songs for a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer movie Say It With Music, which will also feature 25 old Berlin tunes. Berlin says show business remains flexible and that age matters little to audiences who care about the quality of his songs. He notes his career spans over 900 songs since 1907 and hints at a possible Broadway project next season.
