Police Clear Dartmouth ROTC Protest And Purdue Sit-in

New Hampshire and Vermont police moved on about 60 Dartmouth students after a Tuesday occupation, while 600 Purdue students remained at Memorial Union after police cleared 300 from the administration building. At Dartmouth no injuries were reported and 229 arrests followed an earlier sit-in.

Ohio Voters Approve Some School Levies Amid Defeats

Ohio voters approved about half of more than 100 school levy proposals on the ballot while many districts faced defeats. In Youngstown a 12 mill operating levy passed 27,244 to 20,459 as city schools faced financial strain. Several districts including Parma and Lancaster rejected levies, and bond issues totaling 97.3 million for construction fared worse, with Lorain’s 12.5 million bond defeated 6,1944,137.

Ammo Truck Explodes in Macon During Fire and Shelling

An ammunitions truck crashed into another vehicle near Macon causing a fire that scattered hundreds of 20mm rounds over three quarters of a mile. Two people were struck by shells and four injured. Lt. John R. Davis of the Macon fire department and Milligan Frazier of Lexington, Kentucky were named among the injured.
