Soldier’s guilty plea to Iraq abuse tossed out
A military judge at Fort Hood ruled Pfc. Lynndie England’s plea guilty to abusing Iraqi detainees at Abu Ghraib was invalid and set the case for review. The mistrial returns the matter to Lt. Gen. Thomas Metz to determine charges and proceed with Article 32 proceedings if needed. Charles Graner Jr. testified that images were meant as a training aid, not wrongdoing.
