A Cleveland lawyer filed five suits totaling over 57 million dollars in federal and Cuyahoga County courts over the Kent State campus violence of May 4. Plaintiffs include mothers and next of kin of four students killed and nine wounded, naming 36 National Guardsmen and officials including former Governor Rhodes and generals. Damages seek punitive and compensatory awards, with notable claims for Dean Kahler, Joseph Lewis, and Jeffrey Miller and their families.
