Township fails to attract bidders for historic house auction
Ten people attended an auction of Cleercreek Township property at 245 East Street with no bidders. The two story frame house, once near a blacksmith shop and candle factory, will be torn down as crews clear the site within 60 days. The township bought the site in August 1973 to park near the existing town hall and plans to acquire a neighboring lot and build new offices.
