Penn Central Faces Over 17 Million Dollar Cash Drain
A Penn Central spokesman said delaying the plan to abandon 34 passenger trains will cost at least 3.2 million in direct operating expenses and push out more than 17 million in unavoidable costs. He warned the cash drain could be larger as passenger revenue declines and costs rise. The ICC ordering a four month delay enables further investigation into the proposal.
