Cleveland chief suspended in ethics fight over police misuse
Cleveland Police Chief Richard D. Hongisto was suspended indefinitely after accusing city officials and the mayor of pressuring the department to engage in unethical acts. Mayor Dennis Kucinich demanded substantiation of the charges, while Safety Director James Jarnett was named to supervise the probe. Hongisto, 41, said he would submit documentation within 24 hours and retain access to relevant files.
