Simple steps for basic first aid in emergencies
In emergencies stay clear of paramedics if they are on scene and focus on preserving life. Check breathing first, clear any airway obstruction, then perform mouth to mouth if needed. If breathing, search for external bleeding and apply heavy pressure with clean material until help arrives. Avoid moving the injured unless necessary, support the head and neck, cover to reduce shock, and stay reassuring. Consider CPR training for broader readiness. For questions, send to William J.
