Salemites seek Ohio Bell relief over aging Winona exchange
At a complaint hearing in Columbus County farmer Richard Stamp testified it takes longer to dial from his home to Salem than to call 2000 miles away. He and about 301 Winona exchange subscribers complained of old equipment, insufficient operators, and teenaged switchboard workers. Attorneys urged the commission to grant Ohio Bell permission to serve the group.
