Franklin Council votes wage hike for employees
The Franklin Village Council approved a seven and a half percent raise for village employees effective April 1 after a report by Kent Larick found eligibility across police, fire, street departments and the secretary to village officers. Increases range from $150 to $247.50, lifting salaries from $2,000 to $3,300 to $2,150 to $3,547.50. The council also tackled storm sewer bids exceeding the bond issue and authorized bid-hold until May 1 while seeking additional firms. They plan a citizen meeting to decide on a funding method, possibly a special assessment, to raise extra funds.
