Tired hippie seeks help after radio in washing machine
In Bournemouth a weary hippie hid in an all night laundrette and heard a voice broadcasting police messages from a washing machine radio made by weathered copper. Police traced the broadcast to the machine’s copper bowl acting as an aerial amid strange weather effects. The bizarre incident follows lighter notes about Uru Indians on Lake Titicaca and a probate case in Ohio dated March 10 1971.
