Five Die In Mead VIP Jet Crash At Wood County Airport

A twin engine Dassault Mystere jet owned by Mead Paper Corp. of Dayton plunged off the end of the 5 100 foot runway at Wood County Airport Parkersburg with a pilot and four passengers aboard. Five people were killed and flames followed the crash amid light snow and low visibility. Names of victims were not released.

Clear skies and cold night forecast for Southwest Ohio

The forecast for the Southwest Ohio and Miami valley area calls for clear skies and cooler temperatures with a low between 10 and 16 above. Hijacked National Airlines jet held in South Florida hijack

A National Airlines flight with 58 aboard was hijacked Tuesday by two gunmen over South Florida. The old man captive pleaded he would be killed as the plane landed in Havana after a six hour stop. Passengers and crew were separated for extensive questioning by Cuban authorities.
