FBI Finds Bulk Of Bank Loot In Dayton Case
The FBI traced a late Tuesday robbery at The Waynesville National Bank in Warren County to two men, Denver Wells and Joe Crafton, arrested in Dayton. Agents found 5700 dollars at Wells and Crafton’s home and 6137 in a second search, with two sawed off shotguns. Both men pleaded innocent to federal bank robbery charges and are held on 25000 dollars bond each, awaiting a March 17 hearing. An FBI agent said a license number helped locate the getaway car.

Lebanon man dies in Georgia light-plane crash
A Lebanon resident, George Mengle, 26, and Roger Miller, 27 of Norwood, died when their light plane crashed near a former gold mine entrance in the Blue Ridge area of Georgia while en route to Havana, Cuba for a two week vacation. The victims, who owned one third each of the plane, were pulled from the burning fuselage by rescuers. Mengle, son of Jesse Mengle and his wife, worked at Wright Patterson AFB and was active in the Elks. He leaves a brother Dale and a family in Lebanon. The body will go to Oswald Funeral Home for burial arrangements.
