Tiffin University signee Matt Root from Edgewood
Edgewood quarterback Matt Root signed a letter of intent to play football at Tiffin University, a Division I IA program in northern Ohio. Root led Edgewood to a 14 1 season and a Division II state final with 1306 passing yards 19 TDs as a junior and 1238 yards 10 TDs as a senior. He earned multiple all district and league honors and starred in basketball and baseball during high school. Separately Madison’s Samantha Upshaw will sign with Lenoir Rhyne College to play soccer, setting school records for goals in a season and career. Upshaw helped the Mohawks win the SWBL Buckeye Division championship in 2003.
