Burma Court Frees Doctor Seagrave After Appeal
In Rangoon the Burma Court of Appeal shortened Dr. Gordon Seagrave’s six year sentence for high treason to about six months already served. The 53 year old surgeon, known as the Burma Surgeon, aided rebels by supplying medical care and materials from his Namkham mission hospital. The court found intent to help rebels but noted the motive was to relieve misery and reduce the punishment accordingly.

Four Navy Fliers Die Off Maryland
