Tax Revenue Down but Outlook's Good for Middletown
City income tax receipts for 1972 fell by 170000 with two months into 1973 showing a 70000 shortfall. City Manager Dale Hessel says no ballot tax levy is planned as economies and federal aid are expected to sustain operations through 1973. He notes income tax funds about 4 million annually, half for capital projects and half for operations, with state and federal funds aiding urban renewal, park projects, and police work.
