Seeing-eye dog changes life for Carlisle man
Arnold Centers of Carlisle was blinded by a tire explosion in 1969. After four weeks at Pilot Dogs in Columbus he returned with Missy, a German Shepherd seeing-eye dog, now guiding him on sidewalks and at intersections. Training dogs cost about 1800 dollars, funded by donors and Lions Clubs.

Vets Fined For Intoxication By Mason Court
Four Vietnam veterans on leave from Fort Campbell were fined in Mason Municipal Court after motel staff reported syringes in their Holiday Inn room. Richard Freeze, 18, Reno, Nev, paid 50 dollars plus costs for possession of barbiturates. John Kreig, 19, Columbus. Harold Hardway, 22, Oakland. and Timothy Hanson, 19, Spokane were fined 25 dollars plus costs for public intoxication. Deputy said the court favored return to base for further rehabilitation.

Hamilton Rural building activity in Butler County reached 1 283 048 during February announced by county building administrator Anthony Cecere to the county commissioners. A total of 87 permits were issued up from 40 a year earlier with valuations totaling 987 025.
