Philippines will Hold 5 Soviet fishing Ships
Manila AP The Philippine navy was ordered to usher five Soviet trawlers to a naval base today while authorities investigate their appearance off Luzon Island. The trawlers with about 100 Soviets aboard were impatient about their detention and proceeded to Cirique Inlet after an engine broke down. Defense Secretary Jesus Vargas ordered moving the vessels 100 miles south to Poro Point. No public protest from the Soviet government has occurred. The trawlers left the Baltic on Christmas Day to be handed to the Soviet Fishing Ministry.
