Steel firms agree to Mahoning Valley pollution controls
Two major steel producers Republic Steel Corp and U S Steel Corp reached agreements with federal state and local agencies for multimillion dollar water and air pollution control programs in Warren Youngstown and surrounding areas. U S Steel plans construction by 1981 with 1983 completion while Republic Steel targets a $70 million package with work through 1986 and 1983 milestones.
