Missing Boys Apologize For Troubling Smokies Search
Two 16 year old Columbus boys Edward Wells and Randy Moe apologized for triggering a two day search in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. They wrote letters offering to help as volunteers in Columbus, choosing park-time service at the Columbus Bureau of Parks and Recreation. Park officials say the fruitless search cost 306 man hours and 1700 dollars, with volunteers contributing similar time.
