Church Merger Now Guaranteed in United Methodist Move
Day to day power shifts as The Methodist Church and Evai United Brethren Church near uniting into a single body of 11 million members. Delegates from both sides vote overwhelmingly in favor, signaling approval by congregations nationwide. The new church would be called the United Methodist Church and lead by leaders from both denominations. The merger follows years of study and regional votes, with Kentucky and Ohio delegates among those endorsing the plan.
