Overlake Church Raises 1.6 Million for New Building
In Kirkland Washington the Overlake Christian Church gathered 1.6 million dollars in two collections to fund a new building. Twenty off duty sheriff's deputies guarded the offering and an armored car transported it. Pastor Robert Moorehead said the total neared the church goal within 100000 dollars after a contractor offered all foundation labor. He urged the congregation to step out on faith. Some members mortgaged their homes to help.
